Manchester United actually paid Mourinho’s compensation of 19.6 million pounds
According to Sky Sports, the Manchester United club paid Mourinho and his staff for a dismissal of 19.6 million pounds.
This expense was listed as a “special item” in the second quarter of the Manchester United financial statements, including compensation for the five employees of Mourinho. The five employees left Mourinho on December 18. This number is less than that reported by other media, but it is four times that of former Manchester United coaches Moyes and Van Gaal when they were fired in 2014 and 2016 respectively.
Mourinho plans to be the head coach of Manchester United before being fired. By 2020, when he publicly criticized the club’s board of directors for not supporting him in the summer transfer market, his troublesome season began. Mourinho hopes that the club will introduce at least one new central defender, but he did not do so, only signed £47 million Fred, right back Darot and alternate goalkeeper Grant.
In addition, Manchester United announced that its fiscal revenue for the second quarter reached 208.6 million pounds, while the club’s annual income is expected to be between 615 million pounds and 630 million pounds.
